Alessandro Caruso Architects (ACA) is thrilled to reveal the exciting design of a new £6m “state of the art” Diabetes Centre within Hull Royal Infirmary on behalf of Hull University Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust.
Dr Assem Allam, the owner of Hull City, generously donated £6m to the Trust to design and build the Allam Diabetes Centre. Particularly, the Centre will care for and treat patients with diabetes and metabolic bone diseases.
The proposal creates a welcoming and positive environment for patients, visitors and staff. The new centre replaces the demolished Brocklehurst building and integrates accommodation for retinal screening.
The designs also include improvements to parking facilities and landscaping, boasting a garden roof on the first floor.
The Allam Diabetes Centre will make a really positive architectural statement at the front of Hull Royal Infirmary campus on Anlaby Road, which is an important gateway into the city.
The Allam Diabetes Centre design is targeting to achieve BREEAM “Very Good” rating with an aspiration for “Excellent" in certain areas.
