ACA proudly introduces Sonia, our dedicated Interior Designer.
In the world of sustainable architecture, crafting spaces that foster well-being is an art.
At ACA, we blend eco-friendly design with a profound understanding of human experience and Sonia is central to this mission as she excels in selecting materials and layouts that contribute to our goal of creating healing environments.
Originally aiming for a career in dentistry, Sonia then shifted her focus to Art and Design and gained a master’s degree in interior design. She has since become an integral part of the ACA team.

Below is a selection of Sonia’s favourite projects that she has worked on for ACA:
St Barnabas Hospice – Inpatient Unit ACA enhanced the unit’s durability and dementia-friendly design, creating a domestic, non-clinical atmosphere. Key features include a welcoming entrance with a feature wall, a cosy counsellors’ room with biophilic elements, and a versatile conservatory area. Different colour schemes aid way finding with LRV contrasts.

NHS Office Design, Hull For the Humber Teaching NHS Foundation Trust, ACA was tasked with remodelling an office to improve functionality, transforming it into collaborative areas. Inspired by NHS branding and nature, the design includes biophilic elements like timber panels and a living wall to create a sanctuary of well-being.

Under Alex’s guidance, Sonia uses her creativity to ensure our projects meet functional requirements while embracing the healing power of nature and thoughtful design. She keeps up to date with design innovations by attending conferences and workshops, helping to keep ACA at the forefront of well-being and sustainability in architecture.
