With all the negativity in the world we thought we would introduce the team at Source Solutions and hopefully make you smile while let you know how we destress and relax.
A bit about Dave (The Boss), he’s married to Yvonne, has 2 grown up girls and a boxer dog called Roxy.
When Dave isn’t at work he likes going for walks with Yvonne and Roxy the dog, although it’s more of a slow walk now as Roxie is getting on a bit. While out walking Dave likes to watch the deer, rabbits and foxes in the local fields around their village.
Dave’s way of winding down is spending time with family and friends on the golf course, he’s often chuckled and said taking out his frustration on a little ball with a golf club is great and the walk in the fresh air is relaxing, if not cold some days. The 19th hole is well deserved some days with a Sausage and tomato butty and a cup of tea (or beer depending on who’s driving) a lovely reward at the end.
Dave and Yvonne also enjoy their treats of heading off to the sun or on a city break for some well-earned relaxation and embracing local culture.
A bit about me, I’m Julie (Jules), I have 2 girls in primary school and strangely enough we enjoy spending time together, and my girls are following in my footsteps with the types of things they enjoy.
Being around, in, on or under water plays a big part in our lives. There is something grounding and re-energising about water and nature in general, I find my cares just disappear, leaving me feeling less heavy. We love swimming, paddling in the council water play areas, playing around on top of the water in canoes, bodyboards etc, pond dipping or rock pooling and spending hours at the beach just having fun.
My girls and I are members of The Kingfishers RLSS Rookie Lifesavers Club in Hull, we share knowledge on Water Safety, First Aid skills and assessing and reducing risks around water to make sure we can have fun safely or assist each other should the need arise.
I myself am a BSAC Assistant Scuba Instructor (at Divemaster Level) and PADI Dive Master. Before having my girls, I used don my gear and head off to dive sites (both inland and coastal) on a very regular basis, the feeling of freedom, piece and quiet of being underwater taking in the beauty of a hidden world was the perfect way for me to unwind. My girls are nagging at me to learn to dive, so when they are old enough, I know they will be keen to follow me into my underwater world.
Simple inexpensive things like building dens in the woods, bug hunting, bird watching (in the most basic sense), bark rubbing, plant and tree identification, picnics and generally being outside seems to make all 3 of us so much more relaxed and happier. No clock watching or rushing, just fun. It goes to show that natures playground really is the best place for us instead of being cooped up inside on dry days.
