Sportsability Fitness Educator have a variety of face-to-face courses taking place over the next 5 months!

We have an STA Level 2 Award in Teaching Swimming, on the following dates:

  • 9th, 10th, 16th, 17th & 23rd March

On this course, you will learn:

  • To enable non-swimmers to become improvers
  • To be able to teach all 4 strokes confidently
  • To be able to teach water-safety survival skills

There are 2 ITC First Aid Courses at Sportsability Training Offices. This includes Level 3 Emergency First Aid at Work.

We have 2 dates available for this 1 day course:

  • 15th March
  • 17th May

On this course, you will learn:

  • Understand the role and responsibilities of a first aider
  • Be able to assess an emergency incident safely
  • Be able to provide first aid to an unresponsive casualty, a casualty who is choking, a casualty with external bleeding, a casualty who is suffering from shock and a casualty with minor injuries

We have another Swimming Course available in April; STA Level 2 Certificate in Teaching Swimming (this is to be completed after the STA Level 2 Award in Teaching Swimming).

This course is available on the following dates:

  • 2nd - 5th April

On this course, you will learn:

  • The criteria in the STA Level 2 Award in Teaching Swimming
  • As well as, enabling non-swimmers through to advanced participants

The other First Aid Course is the Level 3 Paediatric First Aid. We have 2 dates available for this 1 day course:

  • 19th April
  • 21st June

On this course, you will learn:

  • Understand the role and responsibilities of a paediatric first aider
  • Be able to assess an emergency situation safely
  • Be able to provide first aid for an infant and child who is either unresponsive, choking, has external bleeding, is suffering from shock or has bites, stings and minor injuries, has injuries to bones, muscles and joints, has suspected head/spinal injuries, has conditions affecting eyes, ears and nose, has acute medical condition or sudden illness, is experiencing extremes of body temperature, has sustained electric shock, has burns, has suspected poisoning or has anaphylaxis

The next course available is Level 2 Certificate in Gym Instructing. 

This will take place on:

  • 23rd & 24th March
  • 13th, 14th & 20th April

On this course, you will learn:

  • Anatomy, physiology and nutrition and how they relate to exercise and fitness
  • Health and safety in the fitness environment
  • The skills to conduct client and group inductions in a gym-based environment and support exercise adherence and a healthy lifestyle
  • The skills to plan, instruct and supervise safe and effective exercise and physical activity sessions
  • Professionalism for fitness instructing
  • Personal and professional development
  • Delivering exceptional customer service

The next course is Level 2 Award in Instructing Kettlebells.

This will take place on:

  • 11th May

On this course, you will learn:

  • Understanding the safety considerations when instructing a kettlebell training session
  • Understanding how technology can be used in kettlebell training sessions
  • Be able to plan a safe and effective group kettlebell training session
  • Be able to deliver a safe and effective group kettlebell training session

This will take place on:

  • 12th May

On this course, you will learn:

  • Understanding the safety considerations when instructing a circuit training session
  • Understanding how technology can be used in circuit training sessions
  • Be able to plan a safe and effective group circuit training session
  • Be able to deliver a safe and effective group circuit training session

The next course is Level 3 Diploma in Personal Training. 

This will take place on:

  • 18th & 19th May
  • 8th, 9th, 29th & 30th June

On this course, you will learn:

  • Further knowledge of anatomy and physiology
  • Nutrition for exercise, health and fitness
  • Lifestyle and medical factors that affect wellbeing
  • Effective communication for client consultations to encourage healthy lifestyle behaviours and strategies for change
  • Skills to plan and conduct physical activity sessions with different types of clients in a variety on environments with a range of resources
  • Legal and professional requirements for personal training
  • How to set up and manage a personal training business on a self-employed basis if they wish to
  • How to manage, evaluate and improve own performance

The last course is Level 3 Diploma in Instructing Pilates Matwork. 

This will take place on:

  • 4th & 5th May
  • 1st & 2nd June
  • 6th & 7th July

On this course, you will learn:

  • To provide learners with the skill and knowledge to enable them to be professionally competent to design, plan and deliver safe and effective Pilates classes
  • To provide learners the knowledge to understand the principles of Pilates Matwork
  • To Provide learners with the knowledge to plan and programme Pilates Matwork classes
  • To provide learners with the knowledge and skills to instruct Pilates Matwork classes
