Anthony’s past employment included joinery in the construction industry. Since 2012 he had worked as a joiner for a company that manufactured portable accommodation, during this time he developed a keen interest in driving goods vehicles. Unfortunately Anthony was never in a financial position to be able to undertake the necessary LGV training. As a joiner, the work was often seasonal and Anthony became fed up of being out of work during the winter months.
Early in 2018 his Job Centre Advisor told him about the LGV training programme and asked him if he would be interested. His interest in driving was re-ignited and he asked to be referred to the programme.
Anthony was full of enthusiasm, and despite it being a lengthy programme he remained focused and committed.

Anthony completed the programme and gained his LGV Class 2 licence at the first attempt. The team at Encompass then re-vamped Anthony’s CV to ensure he was in a good position to apply for Class 2 Driving jobs. Anthony applied for an LGV Class 2 driving position that involved transporting caravans and despite being an inexperienced Class 2 driver, he was offered the role and is now employed transporting mobile homes across the UK.
