After turning blue for Sea of Hull, Jess Clark from Divine Clark PR is saying ‘Yes’ and challenging herself to do things she has never done before.
Her company, Divine Clark PR is working with Beverley Building Society to publicise activity for its 150th Anniversary and as part of the celebrations, the Society is supporting a charity partner, Action Duchenne, which is seeking a cure for Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy, a life limiting condition affecting boys.
Jess says:
“The Head of Operations at Beverley Building Society has a son with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy, so I really wanted to take up a challenge myself.”
“My husband thinks I’m having a mid life crisis. We both turned 40 this year and now I am signing up for anything and everything. The Sea of Hull event was a major achievement for me, walking around naked is the stuff of nightmares but once we were all naked, it was like no-one was and I am delighted to have been a part of it, to be able to say I was there.”
“I have always wanted to do a skydive but I am genuinely terrified of heights, I got physical symptoms of dizziness, sickness and stomach cramps, just walking across the Humber Bridge. I have thought a lot about what it will be like to look down out of the plane and see the land below, but I really want to raise money for Action Duchenne, it’s a great charity and so I think all the worry will be worth it.”
“I have decided to just say yes to things and I have also signed up to sing with the Freedom Festival Chorus, along with fellow Business Culture member, Julie Ball. The thought of singing in public also scares me but it can’t be any worse than walking down Alfred Gelder Street naked and I’ve already done that!”
The skydive will take place on 27 August at Hibaldstow during the UK skydiving championships.
