After supporting Run With It at their family race night at the MKM Stadium in April, ACA wanted to give back a little bit more.
Run With It offers a diverse and engaging way of learning for school children of all ages and abilities. The Charity teaches real life English and Maths skills, outside of the classroom, by exposing children to concepts in a variety of ways.
ACA believes in empowering children and doing what we can to help offer children equal and new opportunities. So we decided to sponsor a session for a Year 4 class from Molescroft Primary School to work with the charity.
Beverley Parkway Cinema in Flemingate is one of the locations from which the charity operates, not far from ACA's office. Therefore, we decided to pop in and see first hand what the children were doing! Following a wander around Flemingate with a map, the children were asked to develop a concept for a new shop to fill an empty unit and use their literacy skills to create a pitch! The children then presented their pitches to the Flemingate management team. We were most impressed!
Below we can see some examples of the children's ideas. At "Mason and Finlay's Delights" (MFD) all food and sweets would be discounted by 50% on the opening week and subsequently by 20% on Sundays. Some other notable mentions were the "All Things Hull KR" shop alongside the "Hamster and Horse" store.
Soon, we hope to welcome a group of students to our office and offering a glimpse into the world of architecture and interior design.
