As architects and interior designers in Hull and East Riding, it is crucial for us to keep abreast of what is happening in and around the region.
Therefore, we were associate sponsors of "The Development and Regeneration of Hull City Region" organised by MET Events.
The attendees consisted of people from the local authority and key corporate leaders from near and further afield.
The event began with welcome drinks for guests and an opportunity to network over lunch.
Following lunch, guest speakers delivered their presentations. Main sponsor, Balfour Beatty, provided a detailed presentation about the different phases and challenges faced on their current major A63 project. After, Garry Taylor, Associate Director for Major Projects, Culture & Place at Hull City Council talked over current and planned activities and investments in Hull.
Some key takeaways from the local council plan were: the importance of the quality of design, repopulating the city centre and creating a circular economy.
