The Managing Director at GoHire, Sally Wray, together with her friend, Nicola Marriott completed a 365k rainforest cycle trek in Brazil and raised just shy of £10k for female cancer charities. The pair had been training in the Holderness area (where there is a distinct lack of hills) for 12 weeks prior to embarking on their journey to Salvador on 26th September 2017.
The cycle challenge was organised by Women V Cancer Charity which represents Jo’s Cervical Trust, Breast Cancer Care and Ovarian Cancer Action. The pair travelled from Salvador through the rainforest and completed their trek in Itacare after 5 intense days of cycling, battling up hill after hill after hill, with 67 other determined women.
“It was very challenging and I still have a few aches and pains but it was a fantastic experience and a privilege to ride with a group of such strong determined women,” Sally explained, “Brazil is a beautiful country, with brightly coloured houses and loud jolly music, it was fabulous!”
