Alessandro Caruso Architects (ACA) is pleased with the progress on site of our latest care home development in Fishbourne on behalf of Choice Care Group.
The new build care home will host people with complex needs such as Learning Disabilities, Autism, and Mental Health disorders.
As the project lies within a conservation area, our experience as conservation architects led to a successful planning approval.
Progress on Site
Construction began in June after initial delays due to the lockdown months and is progressing well. Since the green light, we’ve been regularly overseeing the development to ensure construction flows smoothly and meets the Client’s expectations.
To date, the foundations and ground floor are complete and the first floor will be up in a matter of days.
Before designing the new care home, ACA had to familiarise ourselves with Fishbourne’s local conservation policies and reports. In particular, it was critical to understand the architectural language of the existing buildings. With this knowledge, ACA designed a new and innovative architecture solution which satisfied the planning officers.
In the image below you can see how our selection of flint blocks will be sympathetic to the vernacular architecture in a conservation area.
Hopefully, construction of our latest care home development will be complete by early November with residents moving in by the end of November.
