Here\u2019s a quick breakdown of what this means:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A furloughed employee will receive 80% of their salary up to a maximum of \u00a32,500 per month.<\/li>\n<li>This is paid by the government, although employers have the option to top this up if they wish. The employer is only obliged to pay the furloughed employee\u2019s National Insurance contributions and pension payments, if applicable.<\/li>\n<li>An employer can choose to put employees on full-time furlough or simply furlough them for some hours, allowing the employee to work on a part-time basis during the furlough period.<\/li>\n<li>An employer and their employees can still access the furlough scheme even if they haven\u2019t earlier in the year.
