But, as with all great things, they come to an end. Microsoft has announced that Skype is being retired and replaced with Teams. Microsoft is pushing hard to get businesses to transition to Teams.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><b>So, what does this mean for you?<\/b> Whether or not you are using Skype currently, Teams has a lot to offer and goes far beyond Skype from a functionality standpoint.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">In addition to the Skype functions like:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"MsoNormal\"><span style=\"color: #222222; font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\">Instant Messaging<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"MsoNormal\"><!--[endif]-->Screen &amp; Desktop Sharing<\/li>\n<li class=\"MsoNormal\"><!--[endif]-->Whiteboard capabilities<\/li>\n<li class=\"MsoNormal\"><!--[endif]-->Web Conferencing<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Teams adds:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><!-- [if !supportLists]-->Centralised managed and stored chat\/collaboration<\/li>\n<li><!--[endif]-->Integration of both internal and external content and tools<\/li>\n<li><!--[endif]-->More extensive integration across the Office 365 application landscape<\/li>\n<li><!--[endif]-->Content management and integration<\/li>\n<li><!--[endif]-->and more\u2026<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">Currently, there are two challenges with Teams.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><!-- [if !supportLists]-->1. It\u2019s a major change from Skype and there can be a learning curve for your staff to get up to speed on all the things that you want to do in Teams.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><!-- [if !supportLists]-->2. Total functionality within Teams is currently a \u201cmoving\u201d target.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><b>What is the next step?<\/b><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">Teams is a complex product. If you\u2019re already using Skype, you need to take time to consider you\u2019re the transition from Skype to Teams and making this as smooth as possible. Also, you need to consider what new functions you would like to utilise. If you\u2019re not using Skype currently then I would seriously suggest you look at how you can utilise Teams to help you communicate and collaborate more effectively.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">Changes are coming to Office 365.
