Anthony\u2019s past employment included joinery in the construction industry. Since 2012 he had worked as a joiner for a company that manufactured portable accommodation, during this time he developed a keen interest in driving goods vehicles. Unfortunately Anthony was never in a financial position to be able to undertake the necessary LGV training. As a joiner, the work was often seasonal and Anthony became fed up of being out of work during the winter months.<\/p>\n
Early in 2018 his Job Centre Advisor told him about the LGV training programme and asked him if he would be interested. His interest in driving was re-ignited and he asked to be referred to the programme.<\/p>\n
Anthony was full of enthusiasm, and despite it being a lengthy programme he remained focused and committed.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt was too good an opportunity to turn down and the support, encouragement and motivation I got from the Encompass team was fantastic. Nothing was too much for them, they went over and above my expectations, keeping me informed at every stage of the process\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n Anthony completed the programme and gained his LGV Class 2 licence at the first attempt. The team at Encompass then re-vamped Anthony\u2019s CV to ensure he was in a good position to apply for Class 2 Driving jobs. Anthony applied for an LGV Class 2 driving position that involved transporting caravans and despite being an inexperienced Class 2 driver, he was offered the role and is now employed transporting mobile homes across the UK.<\/p>\n \u201cBeing referred to the LGV programme has been a life changing experience for me. I cannot thank the Encompass team and my Job Centre Advisor enough for the support and encouragement I received throughout the journey.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n \u201cI would definitely recommend others to take up the opportunity if they get the chance.
