James Legal are delighted to announce the latest addition to their team!<\/p>\n
Experienced commercial litigator Rebecca Latus joined the firm earlier this month and will be further boosting their specialism in this area.<\/p>\n
Rebecca can advise on everything from contract disputes to negligence issues, shareholder and partnership disputes, financial mis-selling and guarantee liability.<\/p>\n
Having qualified as a lawyer in 2006, Rebecca has previously worked for firms including Rollits in Hull, where she was an associate, and DLA Piper in Sheffield. She has extensive experience of handling complex, \u2018multi-track\u2019 cases.<\/p>\n
When asked what motivates her, Rebecca said: \u201cI enjoy a good argument and I\u2019m also quite competitive and like to win!\u201d<\/p>\n
You wouldn\u2019t think so if you met her though because, like all of the James Legal team, she has a very approachable, likeable personality.<\/p>\n
She explained: \u201cI also really enjoy building close relationships with clients and working out how we can solve a particular problem together. Getting to know them in this way is always important for good lawyers, but particularly so when it comes to fighting someone\u2019s corner and trying to achieve a practical and amicable outcome for them wherever possible.\u201d<\/p>\n
<\/strong><\/p>\n A strong track record<\/strong><\/p>\n Rebecca\u2019s previous successes have included a high profile hire dispute case that was heard at the Court of Appeal.<\/p>\n And, just like James Legal, she believes in \u2018giving something back\u2019, acting as a trustee for the Hull Youth Support Trust, a charity focused on young enterprise who aims to support start-ups in the local area.<\/p>\n \u201cI think it\u2019s important to give something back and help people succeed in an area that hasn\u2019t always been particularly enterprising.\u201d<\/p>\n <\/p>\n So, why has Rebecca chosen to join James Legal?<\/strong><\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019ve reached a point in my career where I\u2019m ready for a new challenge,\u201d she said. \u201cIt\u2019s great to have the opportunity to join a firm that is so committed to taking a fresh approach to law and really helping people through advice that is genuinely aimed at making their situation better.<\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019m excited by the variety of work I\u2019ll be doing, and the opportunities for the future as James Legal continues to expand.\u201d<\/p>\n Outside of work, Rebecca is a rugby league fan (although she\u2019s not revealing which team!) and really enjoys cooking, yoga, baking, and spending time with family and friends.<\/p>\n
