One incredible challenge.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Join Team Sailors on 15 October and take on one of the UK\u2019s most rewarding walking challenges \u2013 the Yorkshire Three Peaks, while raising vital funds to support children and families from seafaring backgrounds facing financial and emotional crisis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Starting and finishing in the village of Horton-in-Ribblesdale, you\u2019ll take on three of Yorkshire\u2019s best-known peaks Pen-y-Ghent (694m), Whernside (736m) and Ingleborough (723m), with the goal of completing the full 24-mile route within 12 hours.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It\u2019s going to be tough, but you won\u2019t be doing it alone!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The Challenge<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Date:<\/strong> Thursday 15 October 2026<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Total distance:<\/strong> 37km \/ 24 miles<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Total ascent:<\/strong> 1,381m \/ 4,531ft<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Target time:<\/strong> 12 hours<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Three peaks:<\/strong> Pen-y-Ghent, Whernside and Ingleborough<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Start &amp; finish:<\/strong> Horton-in-Ribblesdale<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Stunning scenery throughout the Yorkshire Dale<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What We\u2019ll Provide<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We want you to concentrate on the challenge and your fundraising, so Sailors\u2019 Children\u2019s Society will cover the cost of your guided experience, with experienced Mountain Leaders supporting the team throughout the day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You\u2019ll also receive:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>A Sailors\u2019 Children\u2019s Society branded T-shirt<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Fundraising support from our team in the build-up to the challenge<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Help setting up and promoting your fundraising page<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Plenty of encouragement from Team Sailors!<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Pit stops for lunch, snacks and refreshments to help keep you going<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Please note that accommodation and travel to and from Horton-in-Ribblesdale are not included, so participants will need to make their own arrangements.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Your Fundraising Mission<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In return for us funding your place, we ask every participant to aim for a minimum fundraising target of \u00a3350<strong>.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Every step you take and every pound you raise will help Sailors\u2019 Children\u2019s Society provide financial, practical and emotional support to children and families from seafaring backgrounds when they need us most.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Whether you\u2019re an experienced hiker or looking for a challenge that takes you completely outside your comfort zone, this is your opportunity to do something amazing while making a genuine difference.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Three peaks. 24 miles. \u00a3350 fundraising target.
